What Braintrain is โ€” and isn't

Braintrain is a cognitive training application: exercises across memory, attention, processing speed, reasoning, math, and verbal skills, paired with memory techniques and a monthly held-out assessment.

Braintrain is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition โ€” including dementia, cognitive decline, ADHD, or any other medical or psychological condition. Nothing on this site is medical advice. If you have concerns about your cognitive health, talk to a doctor, not an app. We make no promise that using Braintrain will improve your cognition, memory, or any other ability in daily life beyond the specific exercises you practice โ€” our own assessment exists precisely because that kind of transfer is genuinely uncertain and worth measuring honestly rather than assuming. Individual results vary, and past performance on any exercise or assessment is not a guarantee of future results.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old, in line with Danish law on digital consent. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's awareness of your use of the service, particularly once any paid features exist. You're responsible for providing accurate account information and for all activity that happens under your account โ€” keep your password confidential, and tell us immediately if you think someone else has access to it.

Acceptable use

Use the service for its intended purpose. Don't: attempt to circumvent or manipulate the adaptive difficulty system, assessment scoring, or spaced-repetition scheduling in bad faith; scrape, reverse-engineer, or systematically extract exercise content or data; impersonate someone else; use the service in any way that disrupts it for other users; or use automated means (bots, scripts) to create accounts or generate trials. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate this.

Your content

Some things you enter โ€” memory palace station labels, for example โ€” are your own content. You keep ownership of it; you're granting us only the license needed to store it and show it back to you as part of the service. Don't enter anyone else's personal information without their consent, or anything unlawful, in fields like these.

Our content

The exercises, techniques, science explanations, and everything else that makes up Braintrain โ€” apart from your own account data and content โ€” belongs to us or our licensors. Using the service doesn't give you any right to copy, redistribute, or build a competing product from it.

Subscriptions and payment

Braintrain does not currently offer paid subscriptions. When it does, this section will be updated with specific terms covering pricing, billing cycles, cancellation, and refunds before any payment is collected, and you'll be asked to agree to those terms explicitly before subscribing.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data afterward. We can suspend or terminate your account for violating these terms, and we'll try to tell you why when we reasonably can.

No warranty, limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows us to disclaim them. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Braintrain is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited (for example, in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct).

Changes

We can update these terms or the service itself. If we make a material change to the terms, we'll post the update here and, where required, notify you directly. Continuing to use Braintrain after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Danish law. Any dispute not resolved informally will be handled by the courts of Denmark.
